Summary of Job Details:
Under the general direction of the Director of Capital & Physical Planning and the Associate Director of Campus Planning and Design, provides professional planning services related to physical and environmental planning to the campus administration and committees, as well as outside agencies including the Coastal Commission, and others. Performs CEQA analysis and Coastal Commission permitting. Independently responsible for project planning and coordination for most, if not all, phases of planning regarding major and minor building projects. Responsible for physical planning for land use, transportation, parking, housing, and other university functions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training,
- Strong writing and analytical skills,
- Ability to develop a comprehensive working knowledge of all requirements, policies, procedures, and current interpretations of relevant environmental regulatory agencies to obtain all required environmental approvals and permits for development projects,
- Knowledge of the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), California Coastal Act, Army Corps of Engineers, United States Fish and Wildlife Service, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Regional Water Quality Control Board, and other regulatory agencies to successfully process environmental documents and permits,
- Ability to develop expert knowledge of the campus and community planning and be consulted by all levels of University staff including Vice Chancellors and Academic Deans,
- Ability to effectively advise the campus, including Senior Leadership.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check
- Maintain a valid CA driver’s license, a clean DMV record and enrollment in the DMV Employer Pull-Notice Program

Hiring/Budgeted Salary or Hourly Range: $90,000 - $112,700/yr.
Full Salary Range: $82,300/yr. - $151,700yr.
Days/Hours: Monday-Friday / 8am-5pm
