Job Summary: The Local Administrative Advisor (LAA) is responsible for administering the LAA program and providing a range of administrative functions and technical assistance directly to qualifying local governments within the three-county MAG region. The LAA position is funded by the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget (GOPB) and administered through the Utah League of Cities and Towns (ULTC).

The LAA works to elevate the capabilities of qualifying cities and towns; foster more transparent, accessible, efficient, and accountable government; and coordinates the pursuit of statewide objectives surrounding water conservation; the provision of public safety; infrastructure planning; and operational services. The LAA advises mayors, council members, and in-house staff; develops and delivers training on best practices and policy considerations; and creates policies needed to guide administrative processes for local government approval. In some instances, as determined to be appropriate by the AOG and Grantor, the LAA will complete administrative work on behalf of local governments.

Under the direction of the Community Planning Director, the LAA liaises with local governments, LAA program sponsors, and within MAG to develop and oversee project goals, scope, schedule, budget, and contracts. The LAA helps to maintain and develop and cultivate interagency relationships that are critical to accomplishing regional goals and objectives.

Application: The deadline to submit resumes for this position will be Thursday, August 31 at 5:00 pm. Candidates can submit a resume to mountainland.org/careers or apply through any of the job boards where posted. The first round of interviews will be held the second week in September between the dates of 09/11/23 - 09/14/23.
