The following are meeting notes from the October 27 meeting of Partners and Advisors along with some additional updates:
- Reviewed Project Timeline. Martha Schultz briefed the group on staff role in project management.
- Studied how workshop data is used to create development scenarios
- Guiding Principles exercise was completed; draft pending--will post here. Please check back, thanks.
- Small Area Workshops
- Discussion of the first two (of seven) workshops. These two workshops were chosen early in order to keep the project on schedule.
- General locations of Dec 9, 2008 small area workshops. Selections were made by the consultants based on intitial feedback from the citywide workshops and discussions with Advisors and Partners.
- First Two Workshops: Where and When
- The North Tulsa workshop will be at Booker T Washington High School cafeteria at 6 PM on Dec 9
- The East Tulsa workshop will be at East Central High School cafeteria at 6 PM on Dec
- Registration pages and details will be created and posted week of 11/10
- Maps of first two planning workshop areas
- North Tulsa
- Participants suggested that site should be located further north into areas where that need more attention.
- Outcome: Revised site, moved approximately 1/2 mile to the north of orginal
- Participants suggested that PLANiTULSA should cover MORE, if not all, of North Tulsa.
- Note: The PLANiTULSA Team expects to receive additional applications for other parts of North Tulsa. This is not necessarily the only North Tulsa workshop
- East Tulsa The site as proposed
- Concern that the site was reaching too far east into unpopulated are
- Others noted that areas further west, e.g., 21st and Garnett, were already well-planned in the East Tulsa Neighborhood Plan
- Outcome: Site is acceptabl
- Small Area Workshop Applications for the remaining five sites. Unlike the first two workshops, the remaining five workshop sites will be selected through an application process. These workshops will be held in January and February 2009.
- Note that we are pushing back the deadline for small area workshops from November 10 to November 17 in order to allow additional time to for small area applications. Website have been completed. If information still reades "November 10", please refresh your browser and/or clear the browser cache.
- We have received two applications so far.

- PLANiTULSA to-go - We have "Carry Out" version of the citywide workshop called PLANiTULSA to-go and it is available for groups right now.
