A $261 million mixed-use development next to Busch Stadium will put the "village" in the Ballpark Village project in downtown St. Louis.
A highly-anticipated mixed-use development has been announced on a site near Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis. Phase II of the Ballpark Village project will be developed by a partnership between the St. Louis Cardinals and Cordish Companies.
The $261 million development will include the city's first new office building in 30 years, a 216-room Live! by Lowe's hotel, and a 29-story apartment tower. PricewaterhouseCoopers will be a tenant in the new office building.
Ballpark Village II is partially financed by a $105 million bond offering by the St. Louis Industrial Development Authority, a move that has been questioned by some as to whether it is the best use of scarce public resources.
Completion of the project is scheduled for 2020. The first phase of Ballpark Village opened in 2014.
