Detailed Information: The City of Sheridan is looking to employ a qualified consultant to conduct a public involvement process, prepare a visual amenity inventory, and develop a preservation plan for the community's major transportation corridors. Both the Sheridan Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan, and the North Main Master Plan highlight the importance of preserving scenic amenities that help define the community. The City's Gateway Zoning District requires potential developers to conduct a visual impact analysis and prepare a mitigation plan prior to development. The ultimate purpose of the plan is to provide a policy framework to guide preservation efforts and development review. The major work products of this project include:

1. Public Involvement Plan
2. Inventory and Analysis
3. Policy Plan and Recommendations

The City of Sheridan is a community of approximately 17,000 located in northern Wyoming. Its proximity to the Big Horn Mountains, historic downtown, and location off I-90 make it a regional destination for travelers. In 2006 it was named the Number 1 Western town by True West Magazine, and in 2008 the historic downtown was named one of the American Planning Association's Great Neighborhoods.
