City of Decatur, Illinois Urban Corridors Plan: Request for Proposals

City of Decatur IL Planning Division

The City of Decatur is seeking consulting services from qualified planning firms for the Decatur Urban Corridors Plan. This project will contain, at minimum, the following elements: 1) An existing conditions inventory; 2) analysis of opportunities and constraints; 3) preparation of alternative concepts; 4) recommendations for land use policies; 5) recommendations for aesthetic improvements; and 6) strategies for implementation. The West Main Street streetscape plan will include an existing conditions analysis, recommendations related to on-street parking, lighting, landscaping, etc., recommendations for regulatory controls, and an implementation plan with cost estimates. Firms are encouraged to recommend additional elements if they help to achieve the City's corridor planning goals.

The budget for this project is $100,000. Since the majority is funded by Federal highway funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, the firm chosen must meet all federal and state requirements. The deadline for receiving proposals is the close of business (5:00 p.m. CDT) on June 21, 2001.
