Salt Lake City, Utah: The 9th East Lofts at Bennion Plaza Provides Affordable Housing in a Transit-Oriented Development

The 9th East Lofts at Bennion Plaza is a 68-unit mixed-income, mixed-use, transit-oriented development serving the East Central neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah. Strategically located in a walkable area just around the corner from the 900 East station of the Utah Transit Authority's TRAX light rail system, the development is also immediately adjacent to the city's high-frequency 209 bus route for added resident mobility, and offers amenities including bicycle storage and electric car charging stations. Two years after its opening, the 9th East Lofts at Bennion Plaza was honored with a 2019 Award of Excellence in Project Design from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.
