Virginia Beach, Virginia: Seaside Harbor Apartments Foster Inclusiveness Inside and Out

HUD User publishes a series of case studies based on federal, state, and local strategies that increase affordable housing opportunities, apply sustainable features and practices, and increase access to public transportation. The projects featured in these reports have demonstrated innovation through a multitude of partnerships and initiatives. Each report outlines a project’s objectives and the development strategies used to achieve them.

Located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Seaside Harbor Apartments is a 76-unit residential complex geared toward people with disabilities and households with incomes ranging from 40 to 60 percent of the area median income. Seaside Harbor offers a range of inclusive features and services for individuals experiencing homelessness and victims of domestic violence. For residents with disabilities, Seaside Harbor provides Section 504-compliant accommodations and support with meal preparation, personal care, and maintaining legal and financial benefits.
