There are plenty of good reasons to go to a Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit:
*It is one of the largest and most diverse gatherings of ‘creative placemakers’ – people from any profession who want to make places better through arts and local cultural activities. (What does ‘better’ mean? That’s up to you and your community.)
*You’ve got a great chance of enjoying yourself, learning a lot, or making good connections. More than 90% of people surveyed since we began Leadership Summits in 2014 said they did.
*We limit our regional Summits to 400 people, so you have a better chance of making connections with people that you’ll want to keep in touch with after the Summit.
*You can learn practical skills in our workshops, share your insights in peer exchanges, and find out what’s new in seminars.
*There’s plenty of time for networking (or decompressing, if you’re not into networking. But it’s good networking.)
*If you’re not an arts person, don’t worry. There won’t be a lot of weird stuff. Maybe a little, but only good weird.
*Whether you’re new to creative placemaking or have been doing it since before it was cool, you can get a lot out of the Summit.
*Grantmakers will be there. (Just sayin’…)
*It’s enjoyable. And not in that “manufactured fun” kind of way you see at some events. There’s a good spirit at all our Summits that is just hard to define in writing.
Shifting Tides is produced by ArtPlace America, the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation, and The National Consortium for Creative Placemaking.
